RS Coilovers

Just finished installing, adjusting and breaking in the D2 Racing coilovers I got for a 2002 Lexus SC430. The adjustment knobs fit and engaged securely and the dampers adjusted perfectly. They had been set at the factory at maximum firmness, which out of the box was definitely NOT where this street-oriented daily driver needed to be. But they were very intuitive to set for both pre-load and ride height independently. Plus, once the dampers were adjusted to the halfway point between minimum and maximum firmness, the road harshness melted away and the real strengths of these coilovers came through. It’s now like a completely different car. It rides like a well-tuned sport GT that handles corners, dips, freeway cloverleafs and maneuvers with control, poise and commitment while comfortably insulating occupants from the imperfections of road surfaces. I don’t remember exactly what this car was like in its prime (it was my mom’s car), but I’m pretty sure it was nothing like this. I’m not going to change from position 18 for now - it does exactly what I need it to do the way I need it to do it. These coilovers are really a great balance of features and build for a reasonable price, and they were successfully installed and tuned without losing any factory ride height, which was my goal all along.
